Morehouse 150th Anniversary Augusta Pilgrimmage

There will be a bus trip from Morehouse to Augusta on Sunday, February 12, to begin the College’s 150th Founders Week celebration.  Highlights include a Glee Club performance and President Wilson speaking at historic Springfield Baptist Church.

Itinerary

8:00 a.m. – Departure from outside of the Walter E. Massey Leadership Building

10:30 a.m. – Arrival to Springfield Baptist Church Augusta, Ga

10:40 a.m. – Visit Springfield Baptist Church historic cemetery and marker acknowledging the site where Morehouse College was founded

11:00 a.m. – Attend church service at Springfield Baptist Church

2:00 p.m. – Attend reception/dinner at Springfield Baptist Church

4:00 p.m. – Board buses and travel to William Jefferson White’s (founder of Morehouse College) grave site – Augusta, GA

4:30 p.m. – Board buses and travel to Harmony Baptist Church (church William Jefferson White founded) – Augusta, GA

5:00 p.m. – Board buses and travel to Tabernacle Baptist Church where Rev. C.T. Walker prestigious and nationally recognized alumnus preached in Augusta, GA

7:30 p.m. – Arrive back in Atlanta, GA
